Our goal in the EWAS TTW (Teacher Training Workshop) is to prepare teachers for teaching English to young children, using the EWAS application and the ASEG Hybrid Learning System. The hybrid system replaces books and multimedia in the classroom while preserving teacher-pupil interactive dynamics.
Overview, Demonstration and Practice
We present an overview of what we do in the EWAS classroom and how we do what we do.
We demonstrate the use of tablets, boards, EWAS props and masks.
Teachers participate and take an active role in all the above activities.
(Mini-demonstrations: whole group, small groups, individuals doing what children do in class.)
Group Work
Teachers practice what they have learned in the "Overview, Demonstration, Practice" sessions in groups and prepare for their simulations.
Simulations
Teachers simulate parts of lessons as they are taught in the EWAS classroom.
The aim is for teachers to demonstrate a mastery of the skills they have learned in the "Overview, Demonstration, Practice" sessions.
These simulations are designed to give teachers the confidence they need to successfully implement the EWAS method in their classrooms.
